For out-of-towners and locals alike, touring the desert is a unique experience that conveys a new perspective of life in the west. Explore the Bradshaw Mountains in your very own ATV rental and discover Indian ruins still standing against dust storms and the harsh desert sun. Mine for treasure in ancient turquoise mines hidden in the Arizona valleys. For the brave of heart, guided ghost town tours offer a spooky take on the Wild West and its abandoned cities. Whether you’re looking for 360 degree desert views, an escape from the usual, or a rugged mountain adventure, Arizona Outdoor Fun has a tour for you.

There are many things you can do at home to prepare for your excursion. Get a good night’s sleep before your trip and eat a hearty breakfast at home to ensure you have enough energy. Guided tours can be anywhere from 2 – 5 hours long, so plan to be outside for a large chunk of the day. Research your tour on our website so you know what to expect from the tour and the location. Additionally, you should bring the following to guarantee a positive tour experience:

Sunscreen. Sun safety is the most important factor on any guided tour. The Arizona sun is particularly harsh and sun protection (or the lack thereof) can determine whether you come away from your tour with exciting new memories or painful sunburn. A water-resistant SPF 30 and long pants are great defenses against skin damage and will help keep you comfortable during your tour. Reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours to maintain full protection.

Jeans (or durable long pants). In addition to sun protection, jeans are a great defense against cactus injuries. Saguaro, ocotillo, and cholla cactuses are common on the trails. Denim is a tough, durable fabric and can prevent scratches before they occur. The Arizona desert is still a wild, untamed territory and should be approached with caution.

Closed-toe shoes. Don’t let a cactus get between you and ancient turquoise mines. Closed-toe shoes provide protection from cactus spines, sun damage, and stubbed toes on the trail. Safety is paramount in the wilderness and, while leather boots or some sort of solid material of shoe is recommended, tennis shoes also provide adequate protection from the elements. Make sure your footwear is comfortable enough to wear for several hours at a time.

A positive attitude. Touring the desert is a unique opportunity to discover Arizona in a way very few people ever do. Come into this experience with an open mind, ready to learn about the desert, scenery, and hidden attractions tucked between dusty mountains and valleys.

Once you’ve gone over your checklist for safety and comfort, make sure you haven’t over-packed. Guided tours last 2 – 5 hours and a heavy bag will only hold you back. Leave the following items at home:

  • Safety gear
  • Water
  • Children under 5’ and 100lbs

Safety gear and water will be provided for you upon arrival, so it is not necessary to bring more of your own. Our ATV/UTV tours require drivers to be at least 16 years old, 5’, and 100lbs for safety reasons. Anyone with medical conditions should consult their primary care physician before committing to physical activity in the desert heat.

Arizona Outdoor Fun offers exciting tours through the desert with options including mountainous trails, turquoise mines, and sunset rides with an expanse of fiery desert skies stretched for miles ahead. Browse our tour selections today and let us show you the beautiful Arizona desert like you’ve never seen it before.

April in Arizona means warmer weather, blooming cactuses, and the best time of year to get out on the water! Arizona Outdoor Fun offers three different types of watercraft rentals in Phoenix for your enjoyment: wakeboard boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats. While anyone can rent a watercraft, it takes a special type of person to get the maximum amount of enjoyment out of a boating experience. Take a look at our list and see which outing you crave this season!

Picnic on the Water – With a pontoon rental you can pack a picnic basket, lemonade, and some sunscreen for an enjoyable afternoon on the lake. Coast past sandy beaches and saguaro cactuses while you catch up on good times with your friends. Compare tans, snap photos, and swap tall tales in one of the Southwest’s most picturesque destinations. Selfie on Lake Havasu? All your friends will “like” that!

Family Adventure – Leave your technology at home, grab the kids, and get ready for an exciting afternoon of sightseeing, swimming, and true family connections. Teach the kids to fish for the very first time or feed their need for speed with wakeboarding. Point out different types of plants and give the kids something to talk about when they go back to school on Monday. Include a Captain with your rental and we’ll send someone to take care of the steering for you, leaving you completely free to focus on the family.

Adrenaline Rush – Are you and your friends ready for a wild Arizona adventure? Wakeboarding and jet skiing are great ways to feed your inner adrenaline junkie. Catch waves and feel the spray in your face as you fly across the lake with the warm desert wind in your hair. Get your heart racing while our 1,500 watt stereo system bumps your favorite tunes. Moments like this can’t be manufactured; only those who seek genuine life experiences can ever truly understand this kind of thrill.

Relaxing Rejuvenation – Has a long work week got you down? Relax and rejuvenate your senses with a healthy dose of vitamin D and fresh air. Bring a good book and get lost in thought as you float the scenic rivers of Arizona. Escape to a new destination and leave your worries a million miles away. Our designated pontoon captains will handle the technical details while you treat yourself to some much-deserved alone time. The water doesn’t judge; just show up, enjoy yourself, and come away from your experience feeling renewed and ready to tackle life’s challenges.

Romantic Getaway - Connect with your date on a romantic weekend outing. Skip the dinner reservations and surprise him or her with a homemade candlelight meal complete with 360˚ waterfront views! This is a great way to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, or proposals. Set the scene with rose petals, soft music, and one of our captains to ensure a safe journey while you dine. The water will gently lap at the sides of the boat as you fall in love all over again. A secluded trip on the lake guarantees you and your date will walk off the dock hand-in-hand feeling more secure in your relationship than ever before.

Close your eyes and take a moment to consider what you need most in life right now. If you could escape for a weekend, who would you take with you? Arizona Outdoor Fun offers you the unique opportunity to invest in life experiences. Our Phoenix-based rental center will equip you not only with your equipment, but also with maps to the ride spot. Get down to what really matters with a day trip on one of our exclusive watercraft rentals. This is a great way to experience all the beautiful Sonoran Desert has to offer.

At Arizona Outdoor Fun, we understand that when it comes to spending time with loved ones, activities must be designed to accommodate all members of the family. This involves everyone from the youngsters to the elders, and all in between. That is exactly what our outdoor services offer. Whether you prefer a land or water experience, our team of professionals will provide the equipment or tour to best fit your family’s needs.

Our goal at Arizona Outdoor Fun is to provide each and every one of our customers with a memorable outing. Not only do we want to expose people to the natural beauties that Arizona has to offer, but we also want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and enjoys themselves. That is why we have specific adventures that are fitting for each family member:

Adventure seekers

For those with a need for speed, we highly recommend one of our more fast-paced options. This might include our dirt bike or Jet Ski rentals. The choice is yours! Determine whether you want ride on dirt or waves, and let the racing begin. These options are ideal for the adventure seeker as they get to choose their speed and have complete control of the vehicle. Experiment with tricks, or simply go for a fast cruise. Our free protective apparel and trained team of professionals will ensure your safety.

Elders

A relaxing and nonphysical outdoor experience is recommended for elders. We suggest our pontoon boat rentals. There is plenty of seating on pontoon boats that allows for a cushioned place to sit back. There are also shade options to avoid as much sun exposure, unless otherwise desired. Pontoon boats are a great way to experience the outdoors and water without having to exert too much energy. Settle in, relax, and enjoy a smooth ride on the water with the family!

Children

For children, we recommend one of our guided tours for even more supervision and direction from professionals. A family with kids would enjoy our ghost town tour. This gives the little ones the opportunity to explore the old silver mining town of Tip Top. An ATV or UTV will be used to get the family to the historic silver mines where everyone can then venture around on foot.

Everyone in between

Other desirable options for family members include the following:

  • Shooting adventures – Step up to the range and try your hand at our targets. Shoot rounds with various weapons, all under the guidance of our instructors for expert care and safety.
  • Sunset tour – Choose from a variety of our off-road rentals (ATV, dirt bike, sports quad, etc.) and journey into one of Arizona’s breathtaking sunsets. This tour travels through water, Native American ruins and more.
  • Wakeboarding – Hold on tight for this adventure! If you’re ready to blast through the waters, then wakeboarding is the option for you. Our instructors can provide lessons if necessary.

At Arizona Outdoor Fun, it is our team’s priority to provide experiences that are fit for the entire family. We know how important it is to cater to all different needs when it comes to the outdoors. If you would like to give one of these adventures a try, please feel free to call us today at 602-400-2445!
